Back to that whole Vacation thing

I left off after our day in Freeport.  I know this is very spread out and disjointed.  Stay with me though, we really had a wonderful time on our trip. The day after Freeport was Nassau.  I had talked to people who had been there and we had our friend Richard there too, so the three of us decided to hit up the Atlantis Resort.  Its huge and really pretty.  We mostly did the aquarium tour there, since none of us were interested in any gambling.  Jelly fish are always beautiful and make for fun pictures, don't they.  We took a ton hoping to get some nice ones. There were tanks of tiny fish everywhere.  The aquarium is built to look mostly like you are in caves but then outside they have these really large lagoons.  You have to have a map to find your way around the aquarium, its kind of nuts.  We were glad that we spent the morning at the aquarium because it rained off and on all morning. This guy was a bit creepy.  After seeing him and a few others like him I did not want to have

Knitting Is My Drug

I am interrupting my slow accounting of our vacation to bring you a quick shop update.   I have started on a new themed line of stitch markers.  These markers are made from polymer clay beads that look like various prescription drugs.  (Disclaimer: They are simply meant to be fun, not to support drug use)  I often hear people I knit with talk of being 'addicted' to knitting or about knitting being their 'therapy' or drug, so here you go!  This first set is a set of five little vicodin.  :-)  Aren't they awesome?  I just love how they turned out.  This next set is 5 capsule style pills.  I love how they came out too and they are varnished to look shiny just like real prescription capsules.  I also did a 'mixed baggie' set with a few of each for the person who wants to really party with their knitting.  ;-)  I can't believe how real they look!  I've had so much fun dreaming up this set that I think I will continue this theme.  I have a few more ide

Vacation - Part 1

I'm back from a fantastic 2 week vacation!  There were so many parts to our vacation that it is going to take me days to cover it all.  We left town 2 weeks ago today and drove east.  We took 2.5 days to do the drive across, ultimately to Charleston, and stayed one night with my lovely godsister in her super cute yellow home in a teeny tiny town where we actually ate at a restaurant called Taco Sushi.  Yes, Taco Sushi.  I know it sounds weird.  One side of the menu is all mexican food and the other side is all sushi and apparently they do both well.  It was actually quite fantastic. After leave there it was off to our 5 day cruise to the Bahamas.  I must admit, we weren't all crazy like with the picture taking.  We were a little more into the relaxing and eating.  So. Much. Food.   I did take pictures of our towel animals every evening.  Cause I'm a dork like that and I thought they were cute.  (Although I am not a big enough dork to buy the book of how to make them or an
