And a Girly Afternoon Was Had By All

I spent my morning baking pretty things to take to the girly afternoon.  Yummy cherry chip cakelets with cherry icing.  Although they weren't as perfect as I wanted them to be, they were delicious.  And they were made with applesauce and egg beaters, so they weren't too terribly bad for you.  :-)  Perfect for a girly afternoon, right?

We all had out make-up done (it was a lovely Mary Kay party) so the girls agree to model for me.  Yay!!!  So below are a ton of pictures of my awesome friends sporting my knitwear!  (and even one of me).  I have now updated all the etsy listings to include modeled photos, which should make it much easier for people to figure out what things will look like on.  And it felt so good to have all of my stuff oohed and ahhed over.  Thanks, girls!!  Enjoy the pics!

Rachel, you made everything you modeled look very sweet and pretty. The salmon colored cowl was absolutely perfect on you, as was everything else you put on. Don't be so hard on yourself!!

That looks like such fun! Baked goods! Knitted goodies! I hung out with a couple of friends last night for knitting, sewing, and delicious Cuban food. I need more days like that!

GIVEAWAY!!!

As many of you know, I love working with hand dyed yarn.  I especially love Farm Girl Fiber yarn!  Bridgette has an eye for color and has a lot of fun with what she does.  That is why I am so super thrilled that Farm Girl Fiber is sponsoring this giveaway in honor of my opening an etsy shop!   Before the goods, a recap:  I made this Acorn Head hooded cowl for myself on Christmas this year.  I've known pretty much since I bought the yarn exactly what it was going to be, I just had to find time to do it.  This cowl was out of my FGF birthday yarn!  You can't tell in the picture, but it has just this hind of sparkle to it.  Love! I made 2 of these for two different swaps and I really wish I had made and kept one for myself while she still had the yarn!  It was so super soft and super bulky and fantastic!  Sometimes Farm Girl Fiber has very limited lots of things, so if you find something you love, you really need to snatch it up. ...

Production Day & Giveaway!

There is less than a week until the Arkansas Fiber Arts Extravaganza. Even though my stitch markers didn't move well at Indie Emporium, I have high hopes for them this coming weekend. This audience will be completely different, for starters. This time it is a fiber specific event and the people who are coming should actually know what they are! Despite not being very down in inventory, I decided to have a production day to add variety to my stock. It started out as me thinking, oh I'll just make a few today while I have some time. Then I got going and decided I was having fun, so why not have some Chai and make some more. Riley helped by pushing me off the sofa more than once. Ripley did too, but I didn't catch a picture of him doing it. By mid afternoon I had opened new beads, fixed myself a tray of grapes and cheese, finished off the chai and was grooving at a pretty good pace. By the time I needed to get up and get going for my evening plans I had made 15 new sets,...
