Regular Guy

I managed to get a guy item into my esty shop last night.  I had this really neat hunter green wool laying around that I thought would be perfect for a warm guy's hat.  Right now it is so cold here, I am all about warm.  My Regular Guy hats are all a no frills hat.  Guys don't (usually) want frills.  I go for solids or basic stripes, rich colors and good yarns.
It's fairly generously sized, so I think it will fit an average to large man's head.  I made Ben put it on so I could get a frame of reference.
I need a light box.  Or a white background.  Or to grab some of my friends and force them to be models again and it not be so cold that I won't go outside to take pics.  Outside pics are best but it's hard to force your friends to stand in the cold.
I did find a white box lid to use as a temporary back ground.  Yep, box lid.
At least this picture does a better job of showing the color.  It is a dark hunter green but in this lighting in the first two pics it looks much lighter than it is.

I have all sorts of designs in my head I can't wait to try.  I snagged a few more commissions this week though, so I may need to just draw some sketches (I am not so good at that) and write the details down so that the designs don't fly away.

Don't forget about the January Picture Promotion.
If you participate in the promotion and want to shop through Etsy, I will e-mail you a code rather than sending you a physical coupon.

I love the yarn! I've made a hat similar to this for my boyfriend and he loves it! Do you mind if I ask what kind of yarn you used? Green is my favourite. :)

Leah, I used Shepherd Aran Kemp. The shade is Moss. :-) Sorry I didn't get that into the original post.

GIVEAWAY!!!

As many of you know, I love working with hand dyed yarn.  I especially love Farm Girl Fiber yarn!  Bridgette has an eye for color and has a lot of fun with what she does.  That is why I am so super thrilled that Farm Girl Fiber is sponsoring this giveaway in honor of my opening an etsy shop!   Before the goods, a recap:  I made this Acorn Head hooded cowl for myself on Christmas this year.  I've known pretty much since I bought the yarn exactly what it was going to be, I just had to find time to do it.  This cowl was out of my FGF birthday yarn!  You can't tell in the picture, but it has just this hind of sparkle to it.  Love! I made 2 of these for two different swaps and I really wish I had made and kept one for myself while she still had the yarn!  It was so super soft and super bulky and fantastic!  Sometimes Farm Girl Fiber has very limited lots of things, so if you find something you love, you really need to snatch it up. ...
