Already

Its so early in the year and already I have missed a week of posting. Oh well. I did do a lot of knitting though! I have almost finished a gift for a friend, details about that will be posted after I give it to the person, and I am almost done with my shawl for the TeaTimeKnitters shawl exchange. Its warm and cozy, I had it covering my legs while I worked on it last night because it was cold here. I really hope she likes it!

Here is a picture of the Transformers inspired washcloth I made and sent to my friend Brian in Cali. I meant to send it in time to be a Christmas present but because I got so busy and distracted I just sent it a couple weeks ago. He liked it and was able to see the picture. Yay!
In other news I finally went and bought a shorter pair of size 11 circular needles so I can get back to my bohemian tunic. Its time to start the sleeves! I can't wait to be able to wear it! Its so soft and wonderful to work on. And it makes me happy that Hilton likes the design too. :-)

Ok, off to work. But I really wish I didn't have to go to work and I cold just sit and knit all day. The new KnitPicks catalogue has me longing to knit all kinds of wonderful garmets and wishing to forsake all else to this cause. But, alas, no money = no yarn.

Nice Transformer DC. Did you make up the pattern? Don't think I've done a DC since Nov.! What is this world coming to? Last night I did the Twisty(?)Toque from one of the One Skein Wonders books~worsted purple Malabrigo. That malabrigo I was giving to Dena (friend from when Tyler and her dd were in preschool together), but she's allergic to wool. Her loss/my gain. I'm trying to get her to join us at Borders. Am also doing a one-cable-on-the-side scarf from Oneskein with the same yarn. It was supposed to be 3" wide, but for some reason it's 2.5". Knitting tighter these days?
Also did a stockinette hat with earflaps (was a Bobble hat from a Creative Knitting). Did that out of light-ish pink Debbie Bliss tweed (alpaca and wool). Jessica hates that one, and Rob thinks my toque looks like a fez....well, you can't win 'em all. Am still plugging away on the green lace wide scarf that tried to be a wrap, with the Bretton heather.

Sounds like you're pretty busy, Shelly! Pictures! Seriously. I'm sure Wendy could set you up with a blog even and show you how to use it. If not, I'll set you up when I'm out there in April.

but ::whine:: it's so much work to find the camera, take the picture, find the cord, get them off the camera and to the site.

GIVEAWAY!!!

As many of you know, I love working with hand dyed yarn.  I especially love Farm Girl Fiber yarn!  Bridgette has an eye for color and has a lot of fun with what she does.  That is why I am so super thrilled that Farm Girl Fiber is sponsoring this giveaway in honor of my opening an etsy shop!   Before the goods, a recap:  I made this Acorn Head hooded cowl for myself on Christmas this year.  I've known pretty much since I bought the yarn exactly what it was going to be, I just had to find time to do it.  This cowl was out of my FGF birthday yarn!  You can't tell in the picture, but it has just this hind of sparkle to it.  Love! I made 2 of these for two different swaps and I really wish I had made and kept one for myself while she still had the yarn!  It was so super soft and super bulky and fantastic!  Sometimes Farm Girl Fiber has very limited lots of things, so if you find something you love, you really need to snatch it up. ...

Which Would You Pick??

Straw Hat 60's Straw Hat Floppy I think I want one of these, but which one do I want? HELP ME!!!
