Honeymoon Snapshot

I seriously can't believe that Ben and I have been married almost 10 months.  Ok, so that doesn't sound very long at all, but really, it feels like the wedding and all the wedding planning was just yesterday.  And the honeymoon.  Ah, they honeymoon.  It was wonderful.
Fiji is such a beautiful place.

I picked more than one photo again this week.  Sometimes it is just so hard to choose.
I chose this first photo because my husband is really truly smiling in it.  Not a fakey posed smile, but a real grin.  I love it.  I love seeing him like that.  We were on the island where the filmed Castaway at the time, just a little excursion from our island.  Its so pretty on that little uninhabited island.

I could have lived in this hammock.  I spent a dang lot of time in this hammock.  It was the most awesome, most comfortable, most perfect hammock in the world.  No other hammock can hold a candle and I will forever long for it.

I loved that every evening we wandered down to out little strip of private beach and watched the sunset together.  Magnificent, beautiful sunsets, every single one.  Sometimes we would wear our swim suits and sit in the gentle waves and other times I would make a hot cup of tea and we would take our beach mat down and just sit  It was so wonderfully peaceful.

Beautiful.

Oh I want to go back!!

I want to link up, but I have to get going.  Perhaps when I get home I can edit and linky.

GIVEAWAY!!!

As many of you know, I love working with hand dyed yarn.  I especially love Farm Girl Fiber yarn!  Bridgette has an eye for color and has a lot of fun with what she does.  That is why I am so super thrilled that Farm Girl Fiber is sponsoring this giveaway in honor of my opening an etsy shop!   Before the goods, a recap:  I made this Acorn Head hooded cowl for myself on Christmas this year.  I've known pretty much since I bought the yarn exactly what it was going to be, I just had to find time to do it.  This cowl was out of my FGF birthday yarn!  You can't tell in the picture, but it has just this hind of sparkle to it.  Love! I made 2 of these for two different swaps and I really wish I had made and kept one for myself while she still had the yarn!  It was so super soft and super bulky and fantastic!  Sometimes Farm Girl Fiber has very limited lots of things, so if you find something you love, you really need to snatch it up. ...

Ridiculously Easy 3x3 hat

So I was on my way out the door to the St. Louis Cardinals game a couple nights ago when I realized I didn't have any purse size knitting on hand. I grabbed a ball of bernat chunky and a pair of size 10 16" circs out of my travel bag and stuffed them into my purse to contemplate at the game. I wanted something so super easy that by the time the game started I wouldn't have to think about it. I feel almost silly sharing this pattern, but I figured why not. So here is the hat: I don't really intend to turn up the edge to make a brim, but my model had trouble keeping it on otherwise. Its really stretchy and should fit almost any adult head. Its long enough to cover your ears, so if you really want a brim, go ahead and flip up the edge. Ok, here goes the pattern: Ridiculously Easy 3x3 Hat Yarn: I used Bernat Chunky Needles: Size 10 16" Circs or preferred method of knitting in the round CO 60 stitches and join for knitting in the round. Work in 3x3 rib for 7 inche...

Production Day & Giveaway!

There is less than a week until the Arkansas Fiber Arts Extravaganza. Even though my stitch markers didn't move well at Indie Emporium, I have high hopes for them this coming weekend. This audience will be completely different, for starters. This time it is a fiber specific event and the people who are coming should actually know what they are! Despite not being very down in inventory, I decided to have a production day to add variety to my stock. It started out as me thinking, oh I'll just make a few today while I have some time. Then I got going and decided I was having fun, so why not have some Chai and make some more. Riley helped by pushing me off the sofa more than once. Ripley did too, but I didn't catch a picture of him doing it. By mid afternoon I had opened new beads, fixed myself a tray of grapes and cheese, finished off the chai and was grooving at a pretty good pace. By the time I needed to get up and get going for my evening plans I had made 15 new sets,...
