This weekend I made a variation on the single row striped moebius that I made before in the charcoal grey and brown. I used a creamy winter white and an icy super light blue.
Because the seed stitch doesn't curl up stockinette does, the cowl appears to be wider than its stockinette sibling, but in fact they are approximately the same width.
The seed stitch also appears much more open and airy than the stockinette did, even though the needle size and yarn brand were identical.
The color variation is so subtle that it is hard to photograph, but I think you can see here the center area, where the moebius is cast on and begun, is solid in the winter white. Then the seed stitch begins and every row the color switches.
The listing is already up on my etsy. You can view it here.
The alpaca blend yarn is so soft. I was super tempted to keep this one. The colors were so appropriate for knitting with the crazy snowy week.
I tried to have fun with the photos to show the cowl off to its maximum potential. :-)
Then I ran off to a superbowl party (I actually crashed on at my godsister's house) and I made a hat with the leftovers from both colors. I think it came out beautifully and it super soft, so look for pictures of that an etsy listing to come soon.
By the way, I was completely disappointed with the commercials except for the super cute one of the kid trying to use the force to start the car. That was absolutely adorable.
Please cross your fingers that we do not get as much more snow as they are predicting. They are saying it could be almost another foot! Tulsa is just not prepared to handle this kind of snow! And all my friends with kids are going nutso, so lets all cross her fingers.
There are a couple giveaways going on right now on blogs I follow. If you are interested, head on over to Wattlebird for this giveaway of 4 cup cozies.
