Great Weather, Great Clothes, the Rest of a Great Weekend

Super long blog post title, I know.

Saturday after my spinning lesson it was so very beautiful out that Ben and I decided to work out in the yard for a while.  We cleaned up the garden and started turning the soil over, preparing for planting.  Before we did so though, I found a few volunteers who had sprouted and I hated to just kill them, so I dug them up and potted them.
We had a number of spearmint volunteers.  They were all fairly small sprouts but with really deep roots, so I stuck them all in a pot together for ow.  Hopefully they keep growing and fill the pot to overflowing.
A large bunch of either parsley or cilantro (leaves look more like cilantro to me, but I haven't actually looked it up yet) had come up too.  Looks ready to start cooking with already.
And some yummy purple leaf lettuce had sprouted too!  A few clusters were around the garden, but the all fit well in a pot together.  Pre-garden days I used to grow leaf lettuces in a pot on my porch, so they should do well for a while.  The great thing about them is that you can pick them at almost any stage.  They are the right size already for baby leaf lettuce, so if I get a hankering for a salad this week, those little clusters may not make it that long.

Sunday morning I got up and went to target to shop their Go International designer line while they still had all the sizes in stock.
I came home with these two, which would be easier to see if they had been on hangers or hadn't both been black, but you can always go check the target website for a better look.  One is a great wear to work dress that could also be dressed up for evening.  The other is a simple and swingy strappy dress that I think will be great for weekends because it can be dressed up or down with accessories.
I did also walk out of target with two pairs of shoes.  The light blue ones look flat from above, but they actually have a little bit of a heel hidden underneath.  I can't wear the turquoise ones until I get my toes done, but thats ok, its not quite warm enough for me yet anyway.  I love both pairs and hope to get lots of use out of them.  I do hope to some day be able to wear flats without getting blisters on my heels.  How do other women do it?  I doesn't seem to matter how often I wear them, what brand they are, etc.  And those heel pad things never stay in place, although maybe I will have to give them a try again.  I usually end up with bandaids on my heels just to be able to go a full day in pretty flats (unless they have a strap, then I'm usually all good).

The great ending to my awesome and relaxing weekend was a movie date with my wonderful husband.  We went and saw Gnomeo and Juliet and I highly recommend it!  It was so much fun!  Its a short move (hour and 24 minutes) so we weren't even out too late.

Even though I didn't get a whole lot of 'product' made this weekend, I really needed the relaxation and refreshed feeling that I did get from it.  I actually cooked 3 good meals this weekend (one for 2 friends who came over friday night and then Saturday and Sunday dinner for Ben & I).  It was refreshing to get outside and work in the yard and I can't wait to get the garden going again.  I also closet purged after my target shopping, getting rid of at least 1 or 2 old items for each new one I brought home.  I cleaned some and did some laundry and just really got re-centered.  I hope that this is the kick-off for a great week and that this re-centering helps me find my focus both at work and on the knitting front.

I even got up and did time on my mini stepper this morning, finishing up a good workout with Holly's ab workout from Fitness Friday!  (I had actually meant to get up earlier and go walking with my mother, but apparently I selected the wrong alarm.  oops.)

I hope you had a great weekend too!

How cool that parts of your garden are already up and runnin' all on their own!

And I am so glad to hear that you did the ab workout from my blog! I was telling my husband how happy it would make me if people actually did it.
