Ok, not really hair, but hair accessories. I decided to try making a few things I have been really in to recently. I started out with a couple different types of flowers.
The lighting isn't terrific here, but I made a small bud type flower in red and a bigger, flatter type in mustard yellow. I must say, I like the style of the yellow better, so I will be making more of that kind in different sizes in the future. I also want to do some layered flowers and crochet flowers. I have many, many ideas for flowers!!
Both types of flower are sewn securely on to a thick ouchless rubberband. I think they will be great for quick and easy but cute and fun summer hair. I know I go to the old stand-by ponytail a lot in the summer, or the messy bun, and I think these flowers will work great for both.
Next up, we all know how super in to bows I have been recently. If it was still winter, I would still be making those giant bow cowls and trying to find new and interesting ways to do it so that no two are exactly alike. Well, knitting for summer time can be harder, but I still wanted to make some bows, so last night I made a few knit bow hair bands.
The center bands of the bows are crocheted and the bows are securely attached to hair elastics, just like the flowers. I think they are really fun and will definitely be making a few for myself to keep. I also plan to make myself a set of these:
Pigtail hair bands! They are a set of two smaller, thinner hair elastics that I crocheted around with some really pretty and very soft yarn. I will definitely be making more sets of these in many more colors. I might also try making a set of pigtail hair bands with tiny bows on them.
This turquoise bow is actually the first one from last night.
I just love the color. This one is pretty big, but lots of fun!
At one point I had my hair in a messy bun so I put the red bow on Daisy Duck style and Ben thought I was loony. Hehe.
So there is my little collection of fun from last night.
So far I haven't made a any two pieces alike and I kind of think its more fun that way.
Let me know what you think!
Btw - linking up!
