Busy past weekend, late update

I have been so lazy about getting all the pictures off my camera that this update is a bit late.

First off, I spent most of last week figuring out then making ornaments. Many of them were for a christmas party with an ornament exchange, but the rest of them will be for sale Saturday at A Make:Christmas at Ida Red!
I hung them all on my little tree in my craft room for now. Each little hand knit ornament was lovingly and carefully made by me (I ended up with a whole lot of hot glue on me). I hope other people love them as much as I do.
Next up I spent quite some time dipping pretzels for the same Christmas party that had the ornament exchange. Usually I dip them all the way, sacrificing my finger tips in the process, but this year I decided to 2/3 - 3/4 dip them all and leave a part plain, thereby saving my poor little finger. :-)
I sprinkle green and red decorating sugar on some of them for presentation, but really I prefer the ones without the extra sugar. But look how nice they all look mixed together. Yum.
Saturday night the Tulsa Knitters Ravelry group had their K1D2 (Knit 1, Drink 2) Christmas party. This is a quick pick of me with little Robert. If you remember, Robert is Kellie's baby boy that I threw the baby shower for back in November. He's such a cutie! I do wish I'd gotten a full length shot of my dress because its the tan/dark cream lace number I got at affair of the heart and it its just awesome in all its flouncy glory. And the cameo necklace I got from Audrey Eclectic goes really well with it. Her etsy shop only contains her art right now, but her booth at affair of the heart had christmas ornaments and necklaces. Anyway, we all laughed until we cried at the party, it was fantastic. We also had a stitch marker exchange and I ended up with some lovely pearl and clear bead gold stitch markers.
Sunday's party (the one with the ornament exchange) had enough sugar at it to send you into a diabetic coma. The nachos were the only non-dessert so I had to dig into them to balance out all the yummy sugar. That chocolate cake in the upper left corner was full of gooey awesome. We also spent some time wrapping presents. Hopefully soon I will get around to posting pics of the wrapped gifts and the ornaments received in the exchange. It might be sometime after we get through saturday before I can get that done though.

Oh, lordy, need to go get ready for the work that supports the hobby. Have a great day and stay warm!

GIVEAWAY!!!

As many of you know, I love working with hand dyed yarn.  I especially love Farm Girl Fiber yarn!  Bridgette has an eye for color and has a lot of fun with what she does.  That is why I am so super thrilled that Farm Girl Fiber is sponsoring this giveaway in honor of my opening an etsy shop!   Before the goods, a recap:  I made this Acorn Head hooded cowl for myself on Christmas this year.  I've known pretty much since I bought the yarn exactly what it was going to be, I just had to find time to do it.  This cowl was out of my FGF birthday yarn!  You can't tell in the picture, but it has just this hind of sparkle to it.  Love! I made 2 of these for two different swaps and I really wish I had made and kept one for myself while she still had the yarn!  It was so super soft and super bulky and fantastic!  Sometimes Farm Girl Fiber has very limited lots of things, so if you find something you love, you really need to snatch it up. ...
