A Little Frustrated

Soooooo, this weekend while hanging out and having a great time at the Arkansas Fiber Arts Extravaganza, I won a door prize! There were about a zillion door prizes, Bridgette an dI each donated door prizes ourselves. But the door prize I won was a giftcard to Stash. It's a knitting store in Tennessee. And it would still be awesome, I would find a way to spend it, if I could just get a hold of someone! Seriously. The website listed on the prize (http://www.stashknitting.com ) doesn't actually go anywhere. The phone number listed (901-276-5442) just rings until a voicemail box picks up and tells me that it is full and disconnects. I did find a listing on Knitmap.com and there was a review as recent as mid-november, so I have hope that they do actually exist. I checked the shop hours posted on knitmap, since there really wasn't anywhere else to look and made sure that I gave them at least a dozen calls during business house, just to make sure I wasn't getting frustrated for no reason because really they just had a customer at that moment or something or weren't open yet, or whatever. And I will try again tomorrow. But does anyone else have any ideas? Know anyone who lives in Memphis who could find out if this shop is real? Supposedly it is:
Stash
the midtown yarn shop
816 South Cooper Street
Memphis, TN 38104
901-276-5442

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Prizes should be good and easily enjoyed, not a super big headache! Arg.

I found this on yelp, which might help:

The Yarn Studio website has a different telephone number than you mentioned: 901.335.4380

Thanks. I e-mailed them last night though and they said they are a totally separate business and to keep trying the other number. What a pain this all is!

GIVEAWAY!!!

As many of you know, I love working with hand dyed yarn.  I especially love Farm Girl Fiber yarn!  Bridgette has an eye for color and has a lot of fun with what she does.  That is why I am so super thrilled that Farm Girl Fiber is sponsoring this giveaway in honor of my opening an etsy shop!   Before the goods, a recap:  I made this Acorn Head hooded cowl for myself on Christmas this year.  I've known pretty much since I bought the yarn exactly what it was going to be, I just had to find time to do it.  This cowl was out of my FGF birthday yarn!  You can't tell in the picture, but it has just this hind of sparkle to it.  Love! I made 2 of these for two different swaps and I really wish I had made and kept one for myself while she still had the yarn!  It was so super soft and super bulky and fantastic!  Sometimes Farm Girl Fiber has very limited lots of things, so if you find something you love, you really need to snatch it up.  My whole Monday night knitting group went mad ov

Ridiculously Easy 3x3 hat

So I was on my way out the door to the St. Louis Cardinals game a couple nights ago when I realized I didn't have any purse size knitting on hand. I grabbed a ball of bernat chunky and a pair of size 10 16" circs out of my travel bag and stuffed them into my purse to contemplate at the game. I wanted something so super easy that by the time the game started I wouldn't have to think about it. I feel almost silly sharing this pattern, but I figured why not. So here is the hat: I don't really intend to turn up the edge to make a brim, but my model had trouble keeping it on otherwise. Its really stretchy and should fit almost any adult head. Its long enough to cover your ears, so if you really want a brim, go ahead and flip up the edge. Ok, here goes the pattern: Ridiculously Easy 3x3 Hat Yarn: I used Bernat Chunky Needles: Size 10 16" Circs or preferred method of knitting in the round CO 60 stitches and join for knitting in the round. Work in 3x3 rib for 7 inche

Production Day & Giveaway!

There is less than a week until the Arkansas Fiber Arts Extravaganza. Even though my stitch markers didn't move well at Indie Emporium, I have high hopes for them this coming weekend. This audience will be completely different, for starters. This time it is a fiber specific event and the people who are coming should actually know what they are! Despite not being very down in inventory, I decided to have a production day to add variety to my stock. It started out as me thinking, oh I'll just make a few today while I have some time. Then I got going and decided I was having fun, so why not have some Chai and make some more. Riley helped by pushing me off the sofa more than once. Ripley did too, but I didn't catch a picture of him doing it. By mid afternoon I had opened new beads, fixed myself a tray of grapes and cheese, finished off the chai and was grooving at a pretty good pace. By the time I needed to get up and get going for my evening plans I had made 15 new sets,
