A website update and randomness

I'm rocking my red Cot-lin skirt today.

This picture is actually from the first time I ever wore it Christmas Eve of 2007, but I wear it to work regularly.  Today I paired it with boots and a long charcoal cowl-neck sweater.  I still love this skirt just as much as I did the first day I wore it.  The pattern is in the book Greetings From Knit Cafe and if you haven't ever seen that book before, go look it up.  There are great patterns in at and the photography is amazing.  I love it.  I cast on for a lacy mohair dress from the book but haven't finished it.  Someday.

Instead of posting first thing this morning, I spent sometime updating the website.

I wish I was an expert on these things and could make a shot of it appear here in the blog, but I'm not, so you can go check it out here.  A lot of the new stuff is up on the For Sale page

And here's some stuff in my head:
Do you think I should start an Etsy shop?  Are you more inclined to buy from someone who has an Etsy shop than an independent website?  (I have signed up for paypal and am going to try and figure all that out, but feel free to comment on that also)  In what price range are you likely to shop on Etsy and at what point do you really need to see it in person before laying down that kind of money?  Etsy does cost more than me keeping up my little site on my own, but there is also a lot more exposure.  If you have an etsy store, feel free to comment on what you think the pros and cons are.
Who has thoughts on Artfire?

Ok, that's all I've got right now.  Have a great afternoon!

I don't sell on Etsy, so I have no idea about the logistics of it, cost, etc. BUT I do BUY a lot of stuff on Etsy. I'm more likely to buy from there rather than an independent website mostly because of the convenience. I don't need to seek out websites, I can just search what's on Etsy. I also really like that I can read the feedback that people have given -- it's a nice reassurance that I'm ordering a quality item.

GIVEAWAY!!!

As many of you know, I love working with hand dyed yarn.  I especially love Farm Girl Fiber yarn!  Bridgette has an eye for color and has a lot of fun with what she does.  That is why I am so super thrilled that Farm Girl Fiber is sponsoring this giveaway in honor of my opening an etsy shop!   Before the goods, a recap:  I made this Acorn Head hooded cowl for myself on Christmas this year.  I've known pretty much since I bought the yarn exactly what it was going to be, I just had to find time to do it.  This cowl was out of my FGF birthday yarn!  You can't tell in the picture, but it has just this hind of sparkle to it.  Love! I made 2 of these for two different swaps and I really wish I had made and kept one for myself while she still had the yarn!  It was so super soft and super bulky and fantastic!  Sometimes Farm Girl Fiber has very limited lots of things, so if you find something you love, you really need to snatch it up. ...
